Instructor Bio(s)

The Leading Strategies for M3i course was authored by the Government InfoSec consulting team at mindpoint.net's BLACKLIGHT practice, headed by Dr. Vijay Anshiri. Dr. Anshiri and his team have extensive experience in the field of communications security and government communications systems in crisis situations. Dr. Anshiri and his team have contributed to the body of knowledge regarding land-based and non-terrestrial based communications best practices in clandestine, crisis, and complex communications scenarios within the new paradigms of DHS EMS protocols. As instructors change based on subject matter, and to reflect the changing body of knowledge in secure mobile emergency communications, the current Instructor bios are embedded within each module of this course

Due to the recent mandates of the Department of Homeland Security and the ever present possibilities of extreme weather events it is increasingly critical for federal, state, and local government agencies to adopt effective emergency communication and notification solutions. We are reminded time and again by extreme emergencies such as Katrina, localized emergencies such as severe ice storms and flooding, and from repeated emergency management drills that government agencies in general are not properly prepared to communicate with their citizen population and within multi-governmental agencies during emergency response efforts. During a crisis situation and to support continuity of critical government functions, it is important to send emergency action messages to thousands of email addresses, cell phones, BlackBerry’s and other wireless devices quickly and securely as mandated by DHS government communications protocol. The ability to communicate during a catastrophic or man-made disaster is crucial to save the lives of citizens and restore critical public and government functions. This course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge to properly design, construct, and maintain a secure multi-tiered multi-mode fault-tolerant communications system able to communicate from key hub locations to urban and outlying populations, and within intra and inter-departmental relief and response teams.
