In 1999 four guys from technology management backgrounds in network design, human resources, healthcare management, and applied sciences discussed the sad state of distance learning in their various experiences. At that time distance learning was significantly lacking in key areas to drive true eLearning success: learner impact, instructional effectiveness, measurable results, and content presentation. Online learners at that time were being presented with text on an HTML page masquerading as educational material. This did not motivate the learner nor did it accomplish the knowledge transfer that is instrumental in behavior modification, skills attainment, or even general knowledge retention. The eLearning of 1999 failed the learner and consequently failed the sponsoring organization wasting time and money while decreasing morale. |

Online education did not have to be this way. The need for powerful, effective, and rapidly deployable online education was apparent and so catalyzed the creation of mindpoint.net: an Internet learning channel that focused on the learners needs while being driven by our enterprise clients business results, and our authors revenue objectives. Starting in the government education space mindpoint.net quickly established successful methodologies and invested in cutting edge technology to bring learning alive. Our solutions transcended all types of training from self-paced web based training to live instructor-led events hosted on the web accompanied by sophisticated and visually rich simulations. In 2002 the development of our Synaptic Storm learner and content management system accelerated our success and ultimately the success of our clients by providing robust management, rapid development, and clear visibility into the performance of online and offline training programs. This innovative technology platform fueled our expansion into a wider market: the Global 2000 online education market, consultants, sales channel training, and best selling authors. |
